We are excited to announce several significant updates for Block 6 over the next few days that will reshape the experience on the server. Today we want to talk a bit about the experience of mining on Tangerine.
Returning to Paper (Hash) as the Trade-In Item
Previously, we transitioned to using Scrap as the trade-in item to help alleviate support tickets and streamline the process. However, with new solutions now in place, we are reverting to using Hash as the trade-in item. Hash will once again be exclusively produced through mining, making resource acquisition more competitive and restoring the in-game value to acquiring scrap for progression.
Mining Cooling Systems Now Available for Purchase
To streamline gameplay, mining cooling systems have been removed from the loot table and are now available for direct purchase from vendors. This change allows you to acquire essential equipment more efficiently. Additionally, we have updated the pricing and performance of each model:
- Coolers (Fans): Provides 150 units of cooling at an affordable price of 150 scrap.
- Hydro Systems: Offers 300 units of cooling for a balanced investment of 250 scrap.
- Immersion Systems: Delivers the highest cooling performance of 450 units of cooling, optimized for serious miners at 300 scrap.
Partnership with Open Source Miners United (OSMU)
We are thrilled to partner with Open Source Miners United (OSMU) to exclusively use open-source hardware miners as the primary tools for computation in your home. OSMU is a collaborative community dedicated to sharing knowledge and resources related to Bitcoin mining. Their mission aligns with our mission of educating players about Bitcoin and open-source technology. Through this partnership, you can expect to find the miners on the server based on real-world production rates, making for a more immersive and accurate mining experience.
- Bitaxe 100 ‘Max’: Max has an in-game production value of 0.4 and a heat cost of 15
- Bitaxe 200 ‘Ultra’: Ultra comes in at an in-game production of 0.6 with a heat cost of 15
- Bitaxe 300 ‘Hex’: Hex drops a hefty in-game production value of 3 but has a heat cost of 60
- Bitaxe 400 ‘Supra’: Supra delivers an in-game production of 0.8 with a heat cost of 15
- Bitaxe 600 ‘Gamma’: Gamma brings an efficient in-game production of 1.2 at only 18 heat cost
What’s Next?
Now that we’ve covered the big changes, you might be wondering—how will miners actually make their way into your hands? Well, we’ve got a plan, and let’s just say luck favors the bold. Tomorrow, we’ll be pulling back the curtain on how the loot table system determines miner distribution. Will you strike it rich, or will the dice roll against you? Stay tuned and find out!
