A new block has arrived, and this isn’t just another update—it’s Tangerine’s biggest release yet! This season is packed with major changes, new features and improvements that will redefine the way you play. We’ll be breaking down everything you need to know in this blog. On top of that, Orangemart has once again stepped up to sponsor the block, putting 100,000 sats on the line for players to compete for.
We’re not the only ones with huge upgrades today! Facepunch is rolling out a number of new updates that will require we update a lot of the plugins we use to make the server what you’ve come to know. For that reason we are planning to completely wipe our server and start fresh to ensure everything is linked properly and upgraded for the new wipe. You may notice if you join on the first couple days that some features you’ve come to know in Tangerine may not be available. We are working hard to get everything back in the game and ready!
Mining Upgrade
Hash returns as the primary deposit goal, exclusively generated through mining, and now tradable in the new markets for valuable items, perks, and upgrades. Mining cooling systems are available exclusively from vendors and our partnership with Open Source Miners United (OSMU) introduces realistic miners with varied production and heat efficiencies. Upgraded Loot Profiles
We’ve also overhauled loot tables for miners, creating a more balanced and rewarding loot system tailored to the challenge level of each monument and event. This won’t affect the vanilla loot experience for the rest of the server beyond the mining components. For more details on these updates, check out our full announcement on the changes!
Hash Markets
We’re also excited to announce our upgraded market system, Hash Markets. With this new system, you can place Hash-based purchase offers on any items you need, and other players can fulfill your orders. You’ll also gain access to exclusive tools and commands that weren’t previously available for purchase. Vendors utilizing the new Hash Markets system can be found at deposit centers located in Outpost, Bandit Camp and the new Tangerine center. Dive in and start trading today!
Entity Limits Replacing TC Limits
We’ve removed the TC limit that has been in place since the start of Tangerine. While it was originally introduced to prevent griefing, it also heavily restricted players who wanted to build multiple bases. In its place, we’ve introduced an advanced entity limit, giving players the freedom to build as many bases as they want—as long as they stay within their deployable limit. Now, you can expand across the map without restrictions on the number of TCs, as long as your total build size stays within your limit. You can check your current limits anytime by using /limits in chat.
Want to build even bigger? The new Hash Market now lets players purchase expanded entity limits using Hash. By obtaining a Building Permit from the Hash Market, you can push past the initial cap and continue expanding your base as you see fit. Build smart, grow strategically, and take full advantage of this new system!
Raid Protection Added
We’re introducing Raid Protection, a new feature designed to enhance your gameplay experience while raiding. You can now secure your base from raids, even in PVP mode. To activate this protection, place a new tool cupboard or use an existing one you’ve previously placed. Open the cupboard inventory, select the “Protection” tab at the top, and purchase protection hours using Hash. The interface clearly shows your current protection status and the remaining duration of time you have. This is not needed while in PVE mode as you’ll be protected for free, this is geared if you need protection while joining the PVP mode. Plan strategically and raid confidently knowing your base is safe during critical moments!
Personal Recyclers
Finally, you can now buy and upgrade your own personal Recycler with Hash! The Recycler begins with a 10-second recycling cycle, which can be reduced over time through additional Hash-based upgrades. To protect your valuable assets, we’ve also blocked Hash from being recycled, preventing accidental loss and keeping your resource management stress-free. Enjoy greater convenience and customization directly at your base!
Player Locks
One of the most requested features is finally here—you can now lock your vehicles! No more worrying about someone taking off with your mini while you’re out grinding. Simply craft a lock and place it on your vehicle to keep it secure. Whether it’s a mini, a scrap heli or another ride, this update ensures that only you have control over your transport. Lock it up and fly with peace of mind!
Skinbox Gets an Upgrade!
Skinbox just got even better! Every player still has access to our sponsored skins (P.S. Want to sponsor skins? Reach out!), but now you can upgrade your Skinbox using Hash to unlock even more customization options. Over time, dedicated players can unlock all skins by investing their Hash wisely. Whether you’re looking to flex unique designs or match your gear to your style, this update lets you expand your collection like never before. The Biplane Vendor has been forced out of Airfield by a new wave of NPC bandits, but he’s not giving up that easily!
