🌊 Water Bases Are Here!
This wipe, we’re diving into aquatic living! Players can now build floating and submerged bases directly on water—no pillars or terrain tricks required. With our new Water Bases system, just purchase a Water Foundation from the Shops at Outpost for 100 Hash, and begin construction anywhere offshore that’s clear of the Cargo Ship route.
To start, head out to the open water and deploy your Water Foundation just like a deployable item. From there, equip your Building Plan and use floors to expand—every connected floor you place will automatically convert into a water foundation, consuming another foundation item from your inventory. Place a Tool Cupboard to unlock normal building mechanics like upgrading, adding walls, doors, and more. You can even reinforce water foundations by hitting them with a Hammer to enable downward expansion into the sea.
Underwater wall frames can be fitted with nettings that passively collect loot over time—scrap, components, fish, and even diving gear. But beware: if your nettings grow too full, they’ll attract Netting Sharks—aggressive predators that spawn near active nets and attack players within range. Taking them down rewards extra loot!
Some limitations apply: by default, players can build up to 10 water foundations per base, only between 2 and 100 meters deep, and at least 200m from oil rigs. Building near Cargo Ship routes is strictly blocked, and attempts to do so will be denied outright.
From floating trap bases to secret underwater loot bunkers, this new feature brings a whole new dimension to your base building. Prepare to stake your claim—on the sea.
🚂 The Armored Train Has Arrived
This wipe, keep your ears open and your weapons ready—the Armored Train event has been added to Tangerine. Rolling through the landscape above or below ground, this heavily fortified train is packed with NPC guards, turrets, and Bradley support, and may even arrive with a helicopter escort. The event is fully customized with seasonal skins and festive details, bringing a cinematic feel to the battlefield.
Each train is built from a randomized preset of wagons and weaponry, making every encounter unique. Take it down, clear the guards, and you’ll be rewarded—successful attackers will find Bitcoin miners among the loot on board. Expect stiff resistance, coordinated AI, and a rewarding challenge for any group brave enough to board.
The train won’t wait for you. Get in, get the loot, and get out before someone else does.
⚔️ War Mode Removed — Streamlined PVE & PVP Zones
This wipe, War Mode has been fully removed from Tangerine. All players are now PVE by default, with PVP enabled only within designated PVP zones. That means no more needing to type /flag
before raiding or joining events like Raidable Bases—everyone can participate freely, and every event is now open for counters, ambushes, and thrilling last-minute turnarounds.
With this change, we’ve also reintroduced the PVP Delay system. When entering a PVP zone, you’ll remain flagged for PVP for up to 30 seconds even after leaving. This ensures fair engagements and prevents cheap escapes. Some zones, like certain events, may skip the delay—but most monuments and key hotspots will enforce it.
The battlefield just got sharper. Keep your head on a swivel.
📦 Stack Size Increases for Easier Looting
Inventory stress just got lighter. This wipe, all stack sizes have been increased to 2x their vanilla defaults, letting you carry more of everything—from resources and components to food and ammo. Whether you’re gathering, raiding, or just stocking your base, you’ll find fewer trips and more flexibility in your backpack. Additionally, mining rigs—previously restricted to tiny stacks—can now be looted and stacked up to 50 per slot, making deep run hauls and base building much more streamlined. Less juggling, more action.
🏘️ Tangerine Village Retires – Shops Move to Outpost
As part of streamlining the player experience, Tangerine Village has been retired. All of the server’s shops, meeting points, and custom services have now been relocated to Outpost. This shift brings everything closer to where players naturally travel, reducing downtime and making your trips to trade, buy miners, or pick up essentials more efficient than ever.
These hubs are now more active, centralized, and better integrated into daily gameplay. Whether you’re looking to spend your Hash, meet up with allies, or just take a breather—Outpost and Bandit are your new go-to spots.
♻️ Recycler Changes – Now Deployable & Upgradeable
The personal recyclers from last wipe have been removed, and in their place, we’ve added two new deployable options available in the Outpost shop. You can now purchase the Rust Safezone Recycler for 100 Hash, offering a 40% efficiency and 8-second processing time. Or, for a premium upgrade, snag the standard Recycler for 1000 Hash, which runs at 60% efficiency and just a 5-second timer.
These recyclers are fully deployable and can be picked back up using a hammer + SHIFT combo. When collected, they return to your inventory as usable items—just be sure to empty the recycler first, or any items inside will be lost.
Recycle smarter, build faster—and don’t forget your loot before lifting!
🛒 Shops Just Got a Whole Lot Bigger
This wipe, the Outpost and Bandit Camp shops are evolving into full-blown player hubs. We’re rolling out a wave of new functions and items, including the ability to purchase Attack Helicopter missions, spawn Bradleys or even pick up unique décor and utility items for your base—like poker tables, spinning wheels and placeable trees to shape your own local vibe.
Whether you’re gearing up for chaos or customizing your corner of the map, the shop has something for everyone. Keep an eye out for new additions throughout the wipe—more surprises are on the way.
